Continuing his pursuit of educating students of all ages, Adam Leitman Bailey gave his annual walking history tour through downtown Manhattan to students from his alma mater, New Milford High School in New Milford, New Jersey. The tour took students on a half-day trek through one of the most famous areas in New York City, including sites such as Alexander Hamilton’s grave, the National Archives, and Fraunces Tavern. Students commented that they were surprised to learn that there was so much more to the history behind “Hamilton” (the musical).

Some more examples of the exceptionally historical locations the students were able to visit included the site of the First Congress, the location where the Bill of Rights was officially signed, the site of the first terrorist attack on US soil in 1920, George Washington’s first inaugural address and farewell address locations, remnants from where the Dutch first settled New Amsterdam, and the location of the John Peter Zenger Trial. Adam Leitman Bailey also told the students the real story of the purchase of Manhattan from the native inhabitants and his personal story of the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
