Adam Leitman Bailey led a historical walking tour of downtown Manhattan for local high school students. During the tour, Mr. Bailey and the students journeyed through sites and stories from American history, including Alexander and Eliza Hamilton’s graves, Ground Zero, the site of America’s first Congress, remnants of Lenape Indians, the John Peter Zenger Trial, the site where the Bill of Rights was signed, George Washington’s church, Manhattan’s first Dutch City Hall, the Canyon of Heroes, the New York Stock Exchange, the Federal Reserve, the oldest street in Manhattan, where 427 boats docked on an island during the American Revolutionary War – Staten Island, the table where George Washington gave his farewell address after the Revolutionary war, the story of Evacuation Day, and Federal Hall.
